Renting out in Dubai, by the rules.
Annual lease or short-term let: two models, two frameworks. Here is how to compare them and what the law provides.

This is the simplest model: a lease, usually for one year, with a resident tenant. The contract is registered on Ejari, Dubai's official lease registration system, run by the Dubai Land Department.
Rent increases at renewal are regulated: the official DLD calculator, based on the rental index, shows the maximum increase allowed according to the gap with the market.
Short-term letting
Letting by the night or by the week (holiday home) requires a permit issued by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, and the registration of the property. The home must meet set furnishing and equipment standards.
Gross income can be higher, but so are the costs: cleaning, linen, booking platforms, management and quiet periods. The comparison is always made on a net basis, as in my guide to Dubai property buying and running costs.
Managing from abroad
Most non-resident owners hand their property to a manager: finding the tenant, Ejari, collecting rent, maintenance. I point you to licensed property managers and help you read their terms. If you are still at the buying stage, see buying in Dubai remotely.
Tax
The UAE levies no personal income tax on rental income. In your country of residence, whether the UK, Canada, Morocco or elsewhere, this income may be taxable under local rules and tax treaties: I refer you to a tax adviser.
