Guide · Dubai & Morocco
Dubai or Morocco? Often, both.
It is the question Moroccans abroad ask me most often. The right answer depends on your goal, not on what is fashionable.
Les toits de Marrakech et l'AtlasStart from the goal
Before choosing a city, define your goal: rental income, capital growth, a home for the family, retirement, passing wealth on. Each goal points to a market, a type of property and a time horizon.
What Dubai brings
Dubai answers investment goals in particular, as explained in my guide to buying off-plan in Dubai:
- A deep, international market with strong rental demand
- Freehold ownership for foreigners and a purchase that can be completed entirely remotely
- Off-plan payments protected by an escrow account
- A currency pegged to the US dollar and no personal income tax in the UAE
What Morocco brings
Morocco answers family and long-term goals, as set out in buying in Morocco from abroad:
- Property at home, for yourself and your family
- A decade of major projects, with the 2030 World Cup on the horizon
- A secure land title and a framework you already know
- Cities with varied profiles: Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech
Combining the two
Many wealth strategies combine both: a property in Dubai for return and diversification, a property in Morocco for the family and the long term. The order depends on your cash position and your time horizon.
This is exactly what we look at during the strategy call: your situation, your numbers, and the sequence that makes sense.
